IRISH UILLEANN BAGPIPES

For more than 25 years John Pedersen has been making Irish Uilleann Bagpipes here at Amazing Grace. Unlike the Scottish Highland Bagpipes, which are generally seen in parades and such, the Irish pipes are played sitting down and are quiet and sophisticated enough to be played indoors and with other instruments.

Besides the chanter, which plays the melody, the Uilleann pipes sport three drones that play a steady background note and three regulators that are keyed and can be played in various combinations to make chords.

Our pipes are of the highest possible quality and follow either the modern Taylor, squared patterns, or the more traditional, rounded, Rowsome patterns.

The bellows that is strapped around the waist and supplies the air is made of cherry wood and has John's logo is carved into the front.

Reeds and lessons are also available.
